I hate exercise. I’ve always said it. BUT, I think I was going about exercise the wrong way.

It is “Reach my goal financially to bring my husband home from his FT job” This has ALWAYS been a goal of mine even with the old business and with it I never came close. It does not help he gets a raise every year and then makes my goal amount go even higher. But non the less it is a goal and I attend to someday mark it off my list and with 21 Ten I see it as a huge possibility.

What goals do you have in your life? Do you want to work from home but cannot find a legit WAH job? Do you want to be able to stay home with your children? Do you want your husband to be home with you? Do you just want to be able to put $50 a week into a savings account rather then have to dig in the couch for change to get you through till the next paycheck? Whatever goals you have you can work on checking some of them off your list.

So many changes

Wow it has been some time since I have posted here to my blog. Time to get moving again.

A lot has happened since my last post. I have upgraded my career and moved on to a new company called 21Ten which produces the product called Life Shotz.

Well I am truly excited!!! A couple weeks ago my Avon lady announced she would no longer continue being a rep for the company.  I had just recently purchased from a lady on Facebook for a swap group I belong too and had decided to make her my new Avon lady. But then I got to thinking. If my lady is done that means there will be others in the area looking for a new lady so why not check into joining this wonderful company myself!

Last week I spoke to my new-found Facebook friend about joining and she got me started right away for just $10! How sweet is that? I am still waiting on my start up pack to arrive that she sent to me but due to the snow we just had dumped on us this past weekend the postal service was closed on Saturday so I am anxiously awaiting to see if it comes today.

I love my job!

Well it has been a rough day here. The one little guy I babysit is going through a horrible biting stage and has been attacking my four year old all morning. With the horrible winds we are having and the cold weather where we cannot get outside and run off some of our energy I decided it was time to get out of here.

I told Hunter to get his coat and shoes we were going on a field trip. I bundled him and the little guy up and off we went to a child’s favorite place of all,  McDonald’s! We only have one  in the area with a play place and it is so dirty I really don’t like to take them there so we just went into the normal one got our food and sat down to eat. They did a great job both had their little Happy meals and ate really well. Me on the other hand sat there with a wrap and yogurt wanting their chicken nuggets and fries but I stayed strong and did not give in to the temptation.

While there a lady came in and was apparently having a bad day she was so upset something had happened with her landlord and she was planning on suing him and was just a wreak obviously having a bad day. I kept to myself and next thing I know am in a conversation with this lady she is telling me her hours got cut at work, she had her taxes done and paid over $200 to get them done and is only getting $90 back and it still has not come to her so she was upset about that. She cannot file unemployment because there is something wrong with the site where you file. It was just a bad day and this poor woman decided to lay it all out on the table for me. She proceeded to ask if I have work and what I do and well the rest is history.

I felt bad but was so proud to say I have my own business  as an independent distributor for a wonderful company here in Pa. and handed her a catalog with sample I had on me and said “Here maybe this will brighten your day. I know times are tough and you cannot place an order but feel free to enter my contest.” Turned to walk away then remembered my training from the leaders and turned back and said, ” We are also looking to build a team of distributors in this area so if you ever decide you want more information on that give me a call!”

She was so excited and sat there in true amazement just smelling that scent sample it was not a lot but I could tell I made her day just by listening to her story and then giving her something even though small to try and cheer her up.

So to end my story always remember when you are out and about to have your business info on you and listen to people who approach you and don’t be afraid to lend an ear. I will probably never hear from this lady again but you never know what this trip just to McDonald’s to get out of the house will bring.

Off to Kindergarten already?

WOW where does time go? It seems like just yesterday my baby was born and in just another month he will be turning 5! Yes you read that right FIVE. Where does time go?

I am so thankful that these past 5 years I have had the opportunity to be a stay at home mom and get to be here for every minute of his growth. I thank my wonderful husband for that. We are lucky enough for him to have a good job and still have a job in this economy we are in today.

I have more then that to be thankful for as well. Five years ago right after Hunter was born I went on a mission to find a work from home business that would work for me and that I would enjoy doing and representing.  I had searched through many companies and nothing set well with me.  I sat and said to myself “What do you love?” and instantly of course shopping came to mind then I said “What do you like to shop for?” and of course that one came easy too and the answer was candles!   So I started my candle search and nothing really hit my nose and made me say WOW till one day I got a packet in the mail from a very nice lady in Minnesota. I looked it over threw it on our counter and there it sat for two months.

During those 2 months the lady that sent it to me kept calling me at least once every two weeks. I was starting to get annoyed but then one day said I think I need to look over this again so I dug the packet out from the pile and to my amazement those little samples she sent hit my nose and gave me that WOW that I needed.

I started up with that candle business within two weeks of her last call to me and have not regretted it.  I am not making millions yet but am well on my way to making what I need to continue to stay home and continue to be here to put my boys on the bus every morning and pick them up every afternoon not to mention volunteer when I can at their  schools, and more.

Kool-Aid Play Dough

How many of you have little ones who LOVE  Play Dough but are still at the age where they put everything in their mouths? I have been using this recipe  for years in the daycare I worked in as well as here in my home with my own children and the children I watch daily. Enjoy!

Kool-Aid Play Dough

1 cup flour
1 cup water
1/2 cup salt
3 teaspoons Cream of Tartar
1 package Kool-Aid Mix (any flavor of unsweetened)
1 tablespoon cooking oil

Mix dry ingredients together in a large saucepan. Slowly add water mixed with oil and stir over medium heat until mixture thickens to dough. Turn out onto a heatproof bread board or counter top and knead until cool enough for children to handle. Dough will be the color of the Kool-Aid mix and will smell like the Kool-Aid mix. (Can be stored in a tightly covered container for up to six months)
